Reflections -7-

Today, I discovered a perfume by Filippo Sorcinelli – "Chiudi Gli Occhi e Poi Vedi" ("Close Your Eyes and Then See"). It's a fragrance from UNUM, a brand known for its unusual, almost mystical olfactory creations.

The packaging drew me in right away: a simple cube decorated with red letters that seem to tell a mysterious story. Instead of shiny logos or vibrant colors, this perfume has a minimalist but intense look, with an oversized red tassel – a detail that grabs your attention and makes you think.

I feel that this perfume aims to be more than just a scent; it’s like a manifesto, an invitation to pause, close your eyes, and experience things differently. I believe Sorcinelli intended to create a moment of reflection, an experience that pulls your senses away from the world and invites you on an inner journey. Every note has its purpose, whether it’s resin, incense, or something mysterious I can’t quite describe.

It’s more than a fragrance; it’s an invitation to introspection. When you wear it, it’s no longer just about how you smell but about how you feel in that moment, how you perceive the world, and how you perceive yourself.

Maybe sometimes we need to “close our eyes” to truly see.
